I’ve been on hiatus for a while now.  Not motivated to write a single word, publicly anyway.

I have been enraged enough to start typing though.  September 11 is coming upon us again.  But this year, some haters, publicity seekers or whatever you wish to call them are turning this day of mourning into a revengeful, spiteful, hate fest against them (whomever them may be).

The burning of the Koran because Al Qaeda has chosen to hide behind their religion to spread hate and fear is about as useful as burning the Bible because the KKK hides behind their religion to do the same thing.

And the sheer fact that people can not or will not decipher the difference is exactly what’s wrong with the world today.

There are some bad eggs in everything.  I personally know Muslims, and they are as loving and peace oriented as some Christians that I know.

If you want to make a statement about who we as Americans are, spend September 11 volunteering, having coffee with a Muslim, or praying for those who are lost in hate and fear.  And by all means, light a candle or two in the memory of the lives that were physically, mentally, and spiritually lost on that day.

Most importantly, get over yourselves people!!!!!!!

Again and again I express my frustration and dismay at the way people act. People fight and bicker because we don’t want to feel weak or vulnerable. Lashing out becomes a sort of defense mechanism. Everywhere I turn, on my street, the television, my friends, my loves, my world… people turn minor disagreements and misinformation into full fledged wars.

Most of us are so insecure we feel the constant need to defend ourselves. If someone says something negative about us, or hurts our feelings, we try desperately to “regain control” by turning our hurt into anger, and lashing out harder and deeper. Remember the Donald Trump and Rosie O’Donnell war? It all started because she said something about his hair.

Anger is easier to digest than hurt. Hurt symbolizes victimization….anger symbolizes strength and control. Hurt and anger are both valid emotions, and we feel both of them for a reason. Having it okay to feel them does not mean it’s okay to do and say anything we wish. When we feel emotions, good or bad, everything attached to those emotions from our past come flooding in. Sometimes that causes us to fall in love when we should just fall in like, or it causes us to fall in war when we should just fall in disappointment. Emotions are tricky, but the words we use to hide them or describe them are lethal.

Yes, we have the right to free speech. But when we choose to say whatever we feel or think, we are also choosing to accept any consequence that comes from that choice. Is it worth it?

What is Bush up to?

Can anyone please explain to me what in the hell this means?  I saw it on rosie.com, looked it up myself.  If it means what I think it means, we need to be afraid.  I just finished reading the final Harry Potter book.  This sounds a lot like that.  WTF!?

Executive Order: Blocking Property of Certain Persons Who Threaten Stabilization Efforts in Iraq

Fact sheet Message to the Congress of the United States Regarding International Emergency Economic Powers Act

By the authority vested in me as President by the Constitution and the laws of the United States of America, including the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, as amended (50 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.)(IEEPA), the National Emergencies Act (50 U.S.C. 1601 et seq.)(NEA), and section 301 of title 3, United States Code,

I, GEORGE W. BUSH, President of the United States of America, find that, due to the unusual and extraordinary threat to the national security and foreign policy of the United States posed by acts of violence threatening the peace and stability of Iraq and undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq and to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people, it is in the interests of the United States to take additional steps with respect to the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 of May 22, 2003, and expanded in Executive Order 13315 of August 28, 2003, and relied upon for additional steps taken in Executive Order 13350 of July 29, 2004, and Executive Order 13364 of November 29, 2004. I hereby order:

Section 1. (a) Except to the extent provided in section 203(b)(1), (3), and (4) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(1), (3), and (4)), or in regulations, orders, directives, or licenses that may be issued pursuant to this order, and notwithstanding any contract entered into or any license or permit granted prior to the date of this order, all property and interests in property of the following persons, that are in the United States, that hereafter come within the United States, or that are or hereafter come within the possession or control of United States persons, are blocked and may not be transferred, paid, exported, withdrawn, or otherwise dealt in: any person determined by the Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense,

(i) to have committed, or to pose a significant risk of committing, an act or acts of violence that have the purpose or effect of:

(A) threatening the peace or stability of Iraq or the Government of Iraq; or

(B) undermining efforts to promote economic reconstruction and political reform in Iraq or to provide humanitarian assistance to the Iraqi people;

(ii) to have materially assisted, sponsored, or provided financial, material, logistical, or technical support for, or goods or services in support of, such an act or acts of violence or any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order; or

(iii) to be owned or controlled by, or to have acted or purported to act for or on behalf of, directly or indirectly, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order.

(b) The prohibitions in subsection (a) of this section include, but are not limited to, (i) the making of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services by, to, or for the benefit of any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order, and (ii) the receipt of any contribution or provision of funds, goods, or services from any such person.

Sec. 2. (a) Any transaction by a United States person or within the United States that evades or avoids, has the purpose of evading or avoiding, or attempts to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

(b) Any conspiracy formed to violate any of the prohibitions set forth in this order is prohibited.

Sec. 3. For purposes of this order:

(a) the term “person” means an individual or entity;

(b) the term “entity” means a partnership, association, trust, joint venture, corporation, group, subgroup, or other organization; and

(c) the term “United States person” means any United States citizen, permanent resident alien, entity organized under the laws of the United States or any jurisdiction within the United States (including foreign branches), or any person in the United States.

Sec. 4. I hereby determine that the making of donations of the type specified in section 203(b)(2) of IEEPA (50 U.S.C. 1702(b)(2)) by, to, or for the benefit of, any person whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order would seriously impair my ability to deal with the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, and I hereby prohibit such donations as provided by section 1 of this order.

Sec. 5. For those persons whose property and interests in property are blocked pursuant to this order who might have a constitutional presence in the United States, I find that, because of the ability to transfer funds or other assets instantaneously, prior notice to such persons of measures to be taken pursuant to this order would render these measures ineffectual. I therefore determine that for these measures to be effective in addressing the national emergency declared in Executive Order 13303 and expanded in Executive Order 13315, there need be no prior notice of a listing or determination made pursuant to section 1(a) of this order.

Sec. 6. The Secretary of the Treasury, in consultation with the Secretary of State and the Secretary of Defense, is hereby authorized to take such actions, including the promulgation of rules and regulations, and to employ all powers granted to the President by IEEPA as may be necessary to carry out the purposes of this order. The Secretary of the Treasury may redelegate any of these functions to other officers and agencies of the United States Government, consistent with applicable law. All agencies of the United States Government are hereby directed to take all appropriate measures within their authority to carry out the provisions of this order and, where appropriate, to advise the Secretary of the Treasury in a timely manner of the measures taken.

Sec. 7. Nothing in this order is intended to affect the continued effectiveness of any rules, regulations, orders, licenses, or other forms of administrative action issued, taken, or continued in effect heretofore or hereafter under 31 C.F.R. chapter V, except as expressly terminated, modified, or suspended by or pursuant to this order.

Sec. 8. This order is not intended to, and does not, create any right, benefit, or privilege, substantive or procedural, enforceable at law or in equity by any party against the United States, its departments, agencies, instrumentalities, or entities, its officers or employees, or any other person.

The patch says “Doing the work of”  The flags are France , Germany ,and Russia
This SHOULD be  on the front cover of  Time, News week, etc.
Let’s you and I “put it there” by forwarding this all around the  world!

This was sent to me in an email, so I don’t know where it came from.  So, I hope the owner doesn’t mind.

vivi-playing.jpg

I’m sitting here feeling completely blown away.  I am a regular reader of rosie.com.  Today, I went to Rosie’s website, and saw the above picture, and spent a few moments remembering my own childhood, and the pretend games I used to play.  You remember those games don’t you? Digging to China, army, cowboy and Indians, cops and robbers.  It was nice to spend that moment remembering that part of my imagination that I don’t seem to have anymore.  A few  hours later I check back in with rosie.com, and was amazed to read the comments that people wrote in response to this innocent picture.  I guess I’m a freakin’ moron, because the symbolism of the picture didn’t even cross my mind initially.  I see it now.  But my God people, give me a flippin’ break.  Apparently this picture of an innocent, beautiful young girl playing war with her brothers made TMZ and fox news for cryin’ out loud.

Meanwhile, more soldiers have died.  A mother and father’s little boy.  A mother and father’s little girl.  DEAD, GONE, NO LONGER WALKING ON THE FACE OF THIS EARTH.  And yet, this little girl playing make believe makes “news.”  What is the deal with that?  Can a mother not post a picture of her child on her blog playing a game?  What difference does it make what her mother’s politics are?

Children play games, they play dress-up.  They act out things that they are trying to make sense of.  From my experience with working with children, the parents who forbid their children from play fighting, playing guns, or any form of violent games raised children who were overly fascinated with those things as adults.  Lighten up people…and please, put your focus on the important things, like the heros fighting and dying in the real world!

Whew!  I feel better now.

I saw this on a t-shirt when I went to the beach.  I laughed so hard, people were looking at me strangely.  I really wanted to buy it, but just didn’t feel like it was appropriate to explain it to the kids.  But ain’t it the truth?  If only Bush Sr. had pulled out first…

Iraq veterans, men and women who have fought and lived in Iraq have a first hand account of what the war is all about.  Their opinion is the most creditable, over any other American when it comes to truth.  We must listen to them.  But the U.S. government has decided that the American people should not be allowed to hear their stories.  Why?  Because the Iraq veterans know first hand what the truth of this “War on Terror”, and the liberation of Iraq are.  The U.S. government wants us, the American people to remain uneducated about the truth.  They prefer that we go along with the governments version of what the truth is.  They will stop at nothing to make sure we never learn the truth.   The U.S. government is trying to sell us, the American people a “I do not recall agenda.”  But are we naive enough to buy it?  I pray to God that the majority of us, with a public education were taught enough to know when someone is going “waco” on us.  The control of the people are only obvious to those who are not being controlled.  The problem is, the majority of the people who are being controlled don’t and won’t even realize it until it is too late.  Just think about the techniques you use to control your children. Some kids are too smart to buy into it, while others are just so eager to please they go along with whatever, and yet, others just think about the rewards at the end, but not the method that was used to get there.  We need to look at this from a different perspective.  Are the so called rewards at the end worth what America will become for the next generation?

Please read below what the U.S. government is doing to keep you from hearing the truth.

Adam Kokesh and Liam Madden are active members of Iraq Veterans Against the War (IVAW). Both are former Marine sergeants who served in Iraq and were later honorably discharged. Due to their outspoken opposition to the war, the Marine Corps is now formally threatening to revoke their discharges and retroactively change them to “other than honorable.” This is a new, unprecedented step the military feels is necessary in order to suppress a growing anti-war voice from within the military itself. We cannot allow this suppression of free speech to occur!
